A step up in pace and intensity, and definitely not for first-timers. Expect a varied and challenging workout with more functional progressions and an emphasis firmly on effort and results.
Martha Lawrence
From playing competitive sport at a young age, Martha realises the importance of being active for both the mind and body. She participated in various sports, with hockey later becoming her passion, where she competed with her teams at numerous national championship competitions and also in the premier league. Teamwork and dedication are skills she carries through life.

Her knowledge about the influence of a healthy lifestyle was furthered during her studies of Sport and Exercise Science and a masters in Sports Therapy. She learnt about the effects of nutrition on the body’s systems and also the preventive mechanisms of illness and injury that exercise possesses.

Martha’s experiences treating injured patients during her Sports Therapy placement, and from becoming injured herself, means she understands the debilitating effects that injury and illness can have and therefore the importance of good rehabilitation and consistency. From working with many people, often with the same injury, she recognises that every person is unique and requires their own rehabilitation plan. She enjoys working with people to improve their quality of life and assist them to achieve their goals.

Martha believes that exercise improves day to day productivity and state of mind. She attributes her organisational and driven nature to balancing both work and exercise.

In her free time, Martha continues to play hockey and also enjoys running in parks around London and cooking healthy dishes.

No prior experience is necessary for this class; a basic level of fitness is helpful but not essential. Clients are introduced to the equipment, techniques and some basic exercises. Recommended as your first class with Ten or for those of you who would like to practice at a gentler pace - though it's still more than enough of a workout to get those all important endorphins going.
Freya Clempson (physio)
Freya embarked on her path into health and fitness through gymnastics and dance from a young age. As a competitive gymnast for over ten years, she found joy in mastering movement and continuously challenging herself- a journey that inspired her to pursue physiotherapy.

Freya is a dedicated physiotherapist, specialising in musculoskeletal care alongside a growing caseload in women’s health. Having spent the majority of her career within NHS settings, she is excited to embrace the new opportunities of private practice.

For Freya, the most rewarding part of her job is seeing clients leave feeling stronger, more confident, and truly listened to. She is known for her empathetic approach, ensuring that each individual receives tailored care that supports both their physical and mental well-being.

Since joining Ten, Freya has expanded her expertise by training in Dynamic Reformer Pilates, adding a new dimension to her practice. Guided by Ten’s philosophy, she remains dedicated to expanding her knowledge and refining her approach.

One of the highlights of Freya’s career was working at Queen Charlotte’s & Chelsea Hospital in the maternity unit, where she provided obstetric MSK physiotherapy—an area she is particularly passionate about. She finds great fulfillment in supporting this population, helping women build strength, confidence, and comfort throughout pregnancy and postpartum recovery.

Beyond physiotherapy, she enjoys yoga, dancing, arts & theatre, and spending time outdoors in the sun.

A step up in pace and intensity, and definitely not for first-timers. Expect a varied and challenging workout with more functional progressions and an emphasis firmly on effort and results.
Tom Lowe
Tom has always been obsessed with all things sport, health and fitness related. From an early age, he tried his hand at everything, including football, athletics, swimming, and rugby, to name just a few. This contnued through school, leading him to study Sport and Exercise Science at university, where he specialised in human anatomy and physiology and the effects exercise has on the body.

Keen to combine his university studies with his passion for working with others, Tom completed his Gym Instructor and Personal Training qualifications. He enjoys working closely with clients to help them unlock their potential, overcome challenges, and become the best version of themselves that they can be. Whether it is teaching a new client the basics of the gym, or training elite athletes in a strength and conditioning environment, Tom feels that a combination of communication, team-work and dedication can achieve most goals.

Always striving to push himself and increase his knowledge in the industry, Tom went on to gain his BACPR Level 4 Cardiac Exercise Instructor qualification, allowing him to help clinical populations with exercise prescription. It was during this time that he fell in love with clinical exercise prescription, and the opportunity to help clients with specific clinical needs, goals, and requirements. For Tom, helping people restore their day-to-day fitness after suffering health problems is as much – if not more – of an achievement as hitting a personal best on a bench press or 5k best time.

As a result, Tom has worked with GP referral clients in both a 1-2-1 and group exercise setting. Working together to achieve a common goal, and facing a variety of barriers and physical conditions, is the way he loves to work. Being able to understand specific needs, work through obstacles in the most effective ways for the clients and continuously developing their health, wellbeing and confidence is a particular strength of his. From improving the range of motion at specific joints, to increasing cardiovascular fitness to improve the quality of daily functional activities – no matter the aim, if it’s important to the client, it’s important to Tom.

Tom combines high energy and enthusiasm with a depth of practical and theoretical knowledge to provide fun, valuable, and thorough sessions that will support clients on their individual journeys.

Nehir Akmil (Physio)
After graduating from Yeditepe University in Istanbul, Nehir moved to London and gained 6 years of experience providing high-quality care and support for patients with various musculoskeletal conditions. She became a clinical mentor to support less experienced team members to improve their clinical reasoning and patient management of complex patient cases. Nehir has been participating and leading clinical support sessions for Physio groups as well as leading regional training in central London to a team of MSK physiotherapists.

She has experience in neurological, pulmonary and paediatric rehabilitation, trauma and orthopaedic inpatients as well as sports rehabilitation and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. By exploring many areas to treat, this led her to specialising in musculoskeletal rehabilitation.

Nehir has a special interest in neck, lower back and knee injuries. She uses high-quality neuromusculoskeletal assessment skills to develop patient-focused management plans. She likes using manual therapy as well as strength and conditioning programmes to help her patients achieve their therapy goals and increase their quality of life.

Nehir then developed an interest in Pilates and wanted to implement the practice in a clinical setting. She went on to complete her Mat Pilates qualification, and has since incorporated this practice into treating musculoskeletal injuries.

She also has a keen interest in Latin dancing, using it to help her to understand how the body & mind connects. She has helped many dancers in her community from preventing injuries, to allowing them to return to dance following acute or chronic musculoskeletal injuries and enhancing dancing performance.

In her free time, you will find Nehir taking Latin dancing classes, going to the gym or cooking healthy recipes.

Teamwork and dedication are skills she carries through life.

She likes using manual therapy as well as strength and conditioning programmes to help her patients achieve their therapy goals and increase their quality of life.

Wed 18 June2:00pmBeginners to Intermediate - Dynamic Reformer Pilates Transition Class
For anyone who’s been taking Beginners classes for a while and is thinking about stepping up to Intermediates, but may be a little nervous about the transition or unsure if they are ready. Slower paced than a normal Intermediate class, you’ll learn how familiar exercises are transformed into an intermediate progression. It's also the ideal environment to get to grips with some of the new and more challenging exercises you’ll encounter.

An upbeat and energising session, ideal for Intermediate clients keen to try the extra challenge that our Advanced Classes offer, but unsure about what to expect. It’s also a great reintroduction for Advanced clients coming back after some time off. It’s a little slower-paced than a regular Advanced Class (though you’ll still challenge yourself and raise a sweat). We’ll focus on optimal form and technique, along with an introduction to some new advanced level exercises, and next-level progressions of familiar routines.
